Public art: A practical introduction

You are invited to apply to attend a workshop hosted by Assemblage in collaboration with Usha Seejarim.

This is an open call to all artists who are interested in attending a series of workshops on Public Art.
The series will be facilitated by Johannesburg-based visual artist Usha Seejarim.
Participants will be exposed to the history, context and intention of this art form, as well as be actively involved in group and individual interventions in the urban Newtown precinct.

Important notice regarding attendance:
The first of this 4 part workshop session will take place on Saturday the 13th of October and the remainder will be on Wednesday afternoons to be confirmed thereafter.

The intention of this project is to give the attendees hands on experience with proposal writing, attaining permission for and the installation of public artworks.

Cost: R150 per session
What to Bring: Notepad and pen.
