More about the Workshops:

Drypoint and Chine-colle (Minenkulu Ngoyi & Isaac Zavale)
An introduction to drypoint and chine-colle printmaking. Drypoint aluminium plates will be produced on day one and then participants will be introduced to chin colle on day two. Participants will have the chance to explore the possibilities of drypoint and experiment with combining the two techniques.

Chine-collé is a special technique in printmaking, in which the image is transferred to a surface that is bonded to a heavier support in the printing process. One purpose is to allow the printmaker to print on a much more delicate surface, such as Japanese paper or linen, which pulls finer details off the plate.

Silkscreen (Sanele Jali)
An introduction to silkscreen printmaking covering creating your own design on acetate, exposing onto a screen and printing an edition. This can be translated onto a variety of surfaces including paper, fabric and board. Participants leave with a minimum of 8 prints on paper.
