Lino Printmaking Workshop 29 & 30 March 2014

Artists are invited to apply to participate in a Lino printmaking workshop to be held at the newly opened Prints on Paper Studio at the Assemblage Studios in Newtown.

Over two days participants will be taught the basics of lino printmaking. Participants will be introduced to lino printmaking and be allowed to experiment with such. The first Saturday will be dedicated to introduction and concept development.  The second day will be dedicated to printing.

Dates: 29 & 30 March 2014
Venue: Prints on Paper Studio, 41 Gwi Gwi Mrwebi St, Newtown
Time: 10:00 - 16:00 both days
Cost: R450 (this includes all materials and a light lunch)
What to bring: Your concept drawings and ideas for prints, basic stationery, lino tools if you have.

About the facilitators:

The workshop will be facilitated by Minenkulu Ngoyi and Isaac Zavale.

Minenkulu Ngoyi was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1987. He graduated from Artist Proof Studio and now practises as a printmaker from the Assemblage Studios in Newtown, Johannesburg. He has exhibited in numerous including Coming of Age: 21 Years of Artist Proof Studio at JAG (2012), Buy Pop at Velo (2012), Independent  Publishing Project (IPP) exhibition at the Goethe Institue (2012) and Infecting the City in Cape Town (2013)

Isaac Zavale is a Mozambican born artist born in 1988 who grew up in South Africa. His family fled to South Africa in 1989 during the civil war between “Freliemo and Rinamo”. He graduated from Artist Proof Studio and now practises as a printmaker from the Assemblage Studios in Newtown, Johannesburg. He has exhibited in numerous including Coming of Age: 21 Years of Artist Proof Studio at JAG (2012), Buy Pop at Velo (2012), Independent  Publishing Project (IPP) exhibition at the Goethe Institue (2012) and Infecting the City in Cape Town (2013)
