On the back of his words, curated by Assemblage artists, is a show in retort to King Zwelithini’s recent speech that lead to contention throughout South Africa in April 2015. The exhibition explores the notions of belonging, what forms a South African identity, perspectives of foreignness, (de)colonisation and monarchical practice.

The show will take place in the Men’s Jail of Constitution Hill as part of the Basha Uhuru Arts and Culture Festival in association with Kalashnikovv Gallery. Basha Uhuru is a 4 day youth festival that celebrates creative culture and freedom of expression in South Africa.

Join us at the opening on Thursday the 11th June 2015 at 7pm.
